DIY repairs made easy

Most domestic appliance faults are not as difficult to fix as you might think. More often than not, it is the fear of the unknown and what your spouse will think if things go wrong, that prevents us from attempting to fix what is very often a simple fault. Faults we could easily fix if we had some confidence or professional advice to go on.
The kind of faults we are talking about are the every day common ones. These faults are generally brought about by our social habits and they repeat themselves from one household to the next, all over the UK. An appliance is designed with man's needs in mind. Often though, these designs fall flat when it comes to man's bad habits.
So, what does happen when a person throws their clothes in the washing machine along with coins, credit cards, necklaces, hair clips, rubber bands, nails, keys, golf tees etc. etc.? What can happen if you overload or wash that rug? What will happen if the machine is used 2/3 times a day every day of the week for up to 4/5/6 years? What can happen if you lose an item of clothing between the drums? What is happening to the dishwasher (they do not digest food very well) if it is treated like a dustbin?
We could go on and on with these questions but what will happen is that you will more than likely suffer problems such as:
- Machine stopped in mid cycle with water still in drum
- Machine will not spin
- Drum not turning freely by hand
- Drum does not turn as it goes through cycle
- Machine does not take in water
- Machine does not heat water
- Machine will not drain
- Drum belt off or broken
Again, the list could go on and on. All these problems can cause an appliance to give off some worrying symptoms, although very easy to fix. Are you familiar with these symptoms? Do you fear the worst?
Well, before you rush out and spend unnecessarily on a new appliance, let us help you investigate the problem. Choose the correct symptom, get The Solution, follow the professional advice and our step by step guidance. We will arrive at a conclusion that will result in a fix at best or a confirmation of your worst fears.
