Incorrect model numbers lead to incorrect solutions. Every brand has it's own set of unique model numbers. The design on a particular model may vary (even if it is slight) from another model. It goes without saying that different designs result in different fault symptoms and therefore, The Solution may well be different.

That is why it is important that you do not take the model number from a manual if the manual has more than one model number. You should only take the model number from off the appliance. All appliances have a model number. So please make the extra effort and look for it or the risk is yours!
